Why do we bill monthly?

Some customers ask us "why not save money by billing less frequently?"

Billing rules established by the Arizona Corporation Commission state that each utility must bill monthly for services rendered (Arizona Administrative Code R14-2-409A).

It has been our experience that monthly consumption information has been helpful in the discovery of water leaks. The customer's quick response to leaks in their drip systems or inside their houses, has saved hundreds of dollars and prevented damage to their homes.  In addition, monthly reads gives us more accurate consumption information which is consistent with our historic records.  This information is helpful in evaluating consumption patterns and assisting us with our budgeting process.

What happens when a renter moves in?

It is the policy of the Company that anytime an account is established there is a $25 fee. See our rate schedule.

When a renter moves in we add their names to the attention line and when they move out we remove their names from the attention line. Since we do not open a new account or read the meter, we do not make any charges. However, the account remains in the owners name and they remain responsible for the service and any amounts due.

or

Owners who do not wish to be responsible for the service and want their name removed can request that the account be closed and the water turned off. To turn on the water, the renter must come into our office and sign up for service and pay the $25 fee. When the renter leaves, the water will be turned off.  To have the water turned back on, the owners will have to visit our office to sign up for service and pay a $25 fee, even if it is only for a short period of time.

Please feel free to call our customer service, if you have any question.
